The subject Classical Archeology sees itself as a science of the ancient cultural and intellectual history of Mediterranean region and its neighbouring areas and includes the material legacy of the Greek and Roman culture of antiquity. It also researches their precursors and aftermaths, as well as their peripheral areas and the connections to neighboring cultures.
